Description
The ODSS Dressing for Weather Teaching Tool is designed to support and train our kiddos on how to dress for the outdoors! The tool makes the process into a fun and educational game!
The free download includes:
1. 'Dressing for Weather' Visual poster page – meant to be laminated and hung on the wall to use daily to support education & conversations about season and what to wear in specific weather.
2. 'Dressing for Weather' Icons – also meant to be laminated and cut out so your children can address the specific weather daily (sunny, rainy, windy, snowy) using the ODSS weather icons. After you have a conversation about "What is the weather like", they can then choose what clothing icons they would wear in that specific weather.
We hope this will be a fun and educational poster activity to teach your kiddos that there is no such thing as bad weather when you have the right gear! It also supports independant dressing. Intended for both home and school use.
Sizing tip: We often use European sizing along with US sizing to help guide you to the right fit. In many cases, if you know your child's height, this actually can help guide you better than age. We did the work for you so you do not have to convert- use this chart to find their height. Outerwear is made to layer over clothes- getting this right should be all the work you need to do. When looking at boots, use current tennis shoe sizing. Boot sizes are in T (Toddler) and Y (Youth)- not by age.
