Frequently Asked Questions

What is Galon® PU material and why is it so effective?
Galon® is a fully waterproof PU fabric that doesn’t need reproofing. It’s durable, flexible, and easy to wipe clean after messy outdoor play.
What does “welded seams” actually mean?
Welded seams are sealed without stitching holes, so water can’t get in. This keeps kids dry even when sitting or playing in wet conditions.
What is the difference between Slaskeman, Waterman, and Boardman?
Slaskeman → Lightweight, snap front with storm flap & unlined. Waterman → Zipper front, still unlined. Boardman → Fleece-lined for colder weather. Choose based on temperature and use.
Do I need rain mittens with a Didriksons rain set?
Yes, we have found it extends play- hands get wet first. Rain mittens keep kids comfortable and prevent cold, wet hands.
How do the boot straps work (and why are they important)?
Straps go under the boots to keep pants in place. This prevents water from getting in at the ankles.

FOUNDED BY WOMEN. BUILT FOR ADVENTURE.

ODSS was started by mothers who saw firsthand how time outside builds resilient, confident kids. What began as helping outdoor schools equip students for all-weather learning grew into a bigger mission: Help families raise resilient, confident kids by making it easier for children to stay outside longer.
