Answers to Common Questions
What if we're not sure what we need?
That's our specialty. We'll learn about your program and recommend exactly what will work best.
Can you help us choose sizes and quantities?
Yes! We make sizing and quantity planning simple by helping programs determine the right mix of sizes and gear quantities based on age ranges, enrollment, classroom structure, and how the gear will be used throughout the year.
Do you work with our budget?
Absolutely. We'll help you prioritize needs, find cost-effective options, and make the most of your budget.
What if we want to reorder or add items later?
We keep your program's info on file and make reordering fast, easy, and flexible.
Can you work with purchase orders?
Yes. ODSS accepts purchase orders, including payment-on-delivery POs for schools, districts, and outdoor programs. We can also provide quotes, invoices, sample purchase orders, and supporting documentation for grant and budget applications to help simplify planning and approval processes.
Do you offer tax-exempt purchasing?
Yes, we are set up for tax-exempt sales. Just send us your tax exempt certificate.
What is a size or item isn't available?
We work with a wide network of vendors beyond our online catalog and can source most items for your program. If there’s a specific item you need that we don’t currently stock, we can often source it for you so your order can stay organized in one place. Our goal is to simplify the process by reducing the need to coordinate with multiple vendors, allowing programs to spend less time managing gear and more time focused on students and outdoor learning.
How long does the process take?
Timelines vary, but we'll set clear expectations and keep you updated every step of the way.
What Grant Application Support can ODSS provide?
We’re happy to support schools and outdoor programs throughout the gear grant application process. ODSS can help build recommended gear systems based on your program needs, age ranges, weather conditions, and budget goals.
We can also provide sample purchase orders and detailed gear planning documents to include directly with grant applications. Many programs have found that clearly outlining projected gear costs, quantities, sizing needs, and long-term purchasing plans helps strengthen funding requests and gives grant reviewers a more complete picture of how the gear will support outdoor learning.
Our goal is to make the planning process simpler, more organized, and easier for schools to confidently present in grant and budget applications.
