Frequently Asked Questions

How are kids’ shoe sizes determined?
Kids’ shoe sizes are based on foot length, not age. Measure from heel to longest toe and compare to the brand’s size chart. We recommend about ½ inch (1–1.5 cm) of space at the toe for comfort and growth.
Should I size up so my child can grow into them?
A little room is good. Too much is not. Oversized shoes can cause tripping, blisters, and poor stability. Choose a size that fits well now with proper growing room — not extra bulk.
Is there a difference between the boot size my child will wear, or can I use their shoe size?
In most cases, you can start with your child’s current shoe size. However, boots may feel different depending on: Sock thickness Insulation Brand fit If wearing thick winter socks, ensure there’s enough room without the boot feeling loose - toes need to wiggle to stay warm.
Why aren’t kids’ shoes measured by age?
Children’s feet grow at different rates. Two children the same age can wear completely different sizes. Sizing by actual foot measurement ensures better fit, comfort, and support.
What is the additional number (EU) listed with shoe sizes?
The EU number refers to the European sizing system. Many premium outdoor brands use EU sizing as their base measurement. We include both US and EU sizes to help you choose accurately and match the brand’s original sizing scale.
Where is the boot strap on rain pants worn?
The elastic boot strap goes under your child’s rain boot, not inside it. It helps keep the rain pants from riding up, prevents water from getting in, and keeps legs covered during puddle jumping and climbing.
